Keeping it real....

I know most of you enjoy reading because sometimes I can be funny. But, there are also times that I’m not funny.
Sometimes I’m dark.
Sometimes I’m in your face.
Always, I am real.
Speaking of real, I’ve had many varied responses to how real I can be here. A few have said that they don’t know how I can spill so much reality into the great expanse of the internet – how can I bare my soul to virtual strangers…
But most of you have thanked me. You’ve thanked me for being real. You’ve thanked me for being honest. You’ve thanked me for not blowing an endless stream of hearts and flowers up your ass.
In keeping it real, I think if you’re honest with yourself, you don’t want to hear sunshine and roses all the time. I think what you really want to know is how real people are dealing with real issues. You want to know how the rest of us are functioning in this insane world without going crazy. I think if you were faced with someone who was always bubbly, always happy and whose life was always perfect, you'd do a double take and shout, "What the heck is wrong with that person?"
For you naysayers, this is how some of us do it. We write and we share. We transform all our negative emotions into words and throw them out into the world, knowing that somewhere out there someone else feels the same way we do. That eventually, everything we feel will land on someone else who can relate, and we will be given affirmation that we aren't so crazy after all.

  3. I think a lot of people would like to keep up the ruse that life is not dirty, or violent, or naked. But it's just a ruse. A lie. Truth and reality are so much more beautiful, even when they hurt.
